With two decades of experience shaping the landscape of the medical assistance industry, Thorkild Lykke has pioneered global collaborations and cutting-edge solutions between payers and providers. The expertise lies in the dynamic realms of travel insurance, IPMI and medical assistance, where the focus consistently has been on ensuring the right level of costs and optimizing services for both consumers and business partners.

Thorkild is skilled at turning abstract concepts into concrete solutions that have a positive impact. He is adept at building and maintaining global networks that meet the needs of international clients.

Since learning the trade at SOS International in Copenhagen, Thorkild has worked on various short-term and long-term assignments within the medical assistance industry around the world. He drives transformative change with his clients, whether it is optimizing services, reducing claims costs, enhancing the global network and assistance.

Since 2019, Thorkild has been an external advisor to Riskline to bringing travel risk intelligence to the world of IPMI, travel insurance and medical assistance keeping travellers and expatriates safe when they move around in unfamiliar destinations.

Nico Raab is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of FAI Medical Services GmbH (dba FAI Air Ambulance). With professional qualifications as a Business Economist, Paramedic, and Auditor, he brings over 20 years of experience in the international air ambulance industry.

His expertise spans emergency and intensive care medicine, quality management, and operational leadership. Combining a deep understanding of medical processes with strategic and organizational skills, Nico plays a key role in ensuring FAI’s continued excellence and reliability in global medical aviation services.

Recognized for his team spirit, leadership abilities, and attention to detail, he is driven by a strong sense of responsibility, initiative, and commitment to quality. What motivates him most is the unique intersection of aviation and medicine—a field that demands precision, passion, and unwavering dedication to patient care.

 

Nico Raab

Chief Operating Officer (COO) of FAI Medical Services

Gary is the Director of Larus Consulting, a recognised leader in Fraud, Waste and Abuse solutions within the Travel and Health Insurance industry. With over 35 years of experience across counter fraud operations, investigations, and training, he is an Accredited Counter Fraud Specialist and Qualified Trainer.

His career spans specialist HM Forces and Police investigation units, the public and private sectors, and the global insurance industry. Gary works with clients worldwide to reduce financial losses through tailored risk management, investigations, and training—always customised to client needs.

He serves as Vice Chair of the UK’s Counter Fraud Professional Awards Board (CFPAB) Training and Education Committee and is a member of the Insurance Fraud Investigators Group (IFIG). A frequent workshop and seminar speaker, Gary is valued for his practical, collaborative approach, clear communication, and focus on sustainable results. He remains committed to advancing industry standards and adapting strategies to evolving fraud risks.

Olivia Bailey brings almost a decade of experience in travel insurance and assistance, following a rich career in mental health and emergency room social work. Her early work in hospital settings and community mental health laid the foundation for a deep commitment to crisis management and holistic care.

Olivia transitioned into the travel assistance field with a passion for delivering person-centered solutions in high-pressure environments, blending clinical insight with operational expertise. As a licensed clinical social worker and certified case manager, she champions integrated approaches that prioritize the individual while navigating complex systems.

Olivia enjoys weaving the principles of social work into the fabric of travel insurance and assistance, ensuring that empathy and compassion remain at the core of every response. She excels in high-pressure, rapidly evolving situations, applying a steady, solution-focused approach to ensure individuals receive the care they deserve, no matter where they are in the world.
