I’m Thierry, I’ve been in the industry for just over 10 years now. It all started like for a lot of other people in the industry – by chance. I needed a part time job that would help pay for university and I saw this advert that looked interesting. I started as a case manager in the MAPFRE office in Lisbon and made my way up the ladder up to Operations Supervisor.
In 2019, I got the opportunity to move to the UK office and manage the medical assistance team for MAPFRE UK, in Bristol. MAPFRE unfortunately exited the market and I was without a job. Thankfully, I got a role as Senior Assistance Manager at Charles Taylor Assistance where I currently am and where I manage the day-to-day assistance operation.
I also speak 4 languages (English, French, Portuguese and Spanish) which all come very handy when needed!
